Description
The SPAX screw for acoustic cladding has been specially developed for concealed fixing to timber substructures and meets the highest standards of stability, efficiency and aesthetics. An average of around 10 screws per m² are required for efficient installation. With the SPAX screw for acoustic cladding, you get a durable and professional solution for the secure and visually appealing fixing of acoustic cladding – ideal for use in living spaces, offices or public buildings. The T-STAR plus drive, typical of SPAX, is a so-called hexagon socket head. This shape increases the contact surface area of our T-STAR plus, ensuring that the T-STAR plus bits fit perfectly into the screw head. The optimal power transfer from the screwdriver to the screw via T-STAR plus enables rapid work, and is significantly more efficient than with any other drive system. Thanks to its small cylindrical head, the SPAX screw for acoustic cladding fits perfectly into a 4 mm acoustic joint. This results in an almost invisible fastening, as the small cylindrical head sits flush with the wood. Thanks to its full thread, the screw offers maximum hold and prevents material movement: unlike a partial thread, the full thread extends along the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood. The term 4CUT refers to the square-shaped profile of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres during driving, creating space for the screw’s core diameter. This reduces the spreading pressure exerted by the core on the wood and prevents the wood from splitting near the edges. The torque required from the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, as the screw’s shank does not have to ‘squeeze’ its way into the timber. With WIROX, SPAX has developed a coating that is far superior to conventional galvanising in terms of corrosion protection. WIROX does not contain chromium(VI): the screws remain fully load-bearing even after years of use in outdoor areas not directly exposed to the elements (e.g. roof overhangs). WIROX screws are the first choice for all open structures not directly exposed to the elements, such as carports or pergolas: for applications directly exposed to the elements, such as decking, we recommend our screws in the stainless steel variant.
